Double Fish Pole Star DF-J1: transparent and crispy, yet not ordinary in daily life!

April 18,2023.

In the new year and new atmosphere,Double Fish also launched a new table tennis racket series in 2023, which is specially designed for 40+ plastic balls. These four Polestars include internal and external aromatic carbon types, and the surface materials have different head and lymph. Four different handle colors are used to distinguish each model, which is very simple in appearance.

It can be said that they are all based on the current mainstream table tennis structure. For example, the first Polestar DF-J1 to be evaluated today is the familiar external blue aromatic carbon structure, which is the same as the butterfly king Viscaria.

Familiar Structure, Familiar Taste

Structure: Koutou surface material + blue aromatic carbon + Ayousi transition layer + paulownia core

The structure of Polestar DF-J1 is very familiar to us. In the external aromatic carbon camp of the butterfly, Viscaria, Lin Gaoyuan ALC, Bohr ALC and Fan Zhendong ALC all have the same structure. There are many audiences in the international table tennis world. The same structure can easily create similar flavors. This piece of Polestar DF-J1 has a clear and crisp taste as a whole. It has a relatively fast first speed and good explosive power. It is relatively transparent and controllable near the billiards. The large core of paulownia wood has good cushioning effect, and it is crisp and neat to play.

The handle of Polestar DF-J1 is relatively flat. The grip is a bit close to that of Hurricane Dragon 5, but the front end is not as "small" as Dragon 5. The arc treatment of the front end is somewhat similar to Viscaria. Still more comfortable to hold. Thumb buckle, and then twist and pull, very smooth.

The measured thickness is 6.0mm and the weight is 85.6 grams.

Battle Test

The forehand is pasted with Double Fish Polestar-S new rubber, which is a domestic adhesive cover of hard sponge. Stick the Dignics 05 on the backhand.

Table ball control

Feedback is more faithful and linear. The short swing and long split of the ball are very good. The arc can be controlled relatively low and flat, this board is not in vain.

It's no problem to pick and fight. It is also easier to use if you need to twist and pull a board to receive a serve. The bottom plate has a moderate center of gravity.

Backhand bounce, defense with force

Thanks to the structure of the external blue aromatic carbon, the directivity of the bullet is more accurate. The speed of the ball with the help of defense is also not bad. On the whole, the ball is quite faithful. It has good elasticity, medium hardness, not that kind of soft elasticity. The feel style is more similar to the three-dimensional 75#.

Forehand pull

The holding time of this structure will not be very long. However, with the forehand sticky sleeve, the ball holding time is enough. The ability of Polestar-S rubber to create arcs is still very stable. The attendance rate is pretty good. I feel that the quality of pulling punches will not be particularly "rushing", and it belongs to the type of steady and steady.

If you compare the popular bats with the same structure, such as Viscaria, the Polestar DF-J1 does not have a strong overall power storage ability, but it is not easy to pull out the arc with a relatively explosive ball quality. The overall is very stable, but the quality of the ball is quite satisfactory. It belongs to the type that is easy to use, and the upper limit of bottom strength is also medium.

The ball board has a good explosive power, of course it is not as good as the mainstream aromatic carbon board of the Butterfly. But it is easy to switch between forehand and backhand, and it is easier to get started with the backhand. The stripping time is slightly faster, and the backhand is suitable for rubber with softer hardness.

On the whole, Polestar DF-J1 is transparent and crisp in terms of hand feel. The ceiling is not particularly high, but it can be easily controlled once you get started, and it is also a mainstream structure. It can be said that it is suitable for junior and intermediate amateur golfers, easy to get started and practice.
